File Retention Information -
The historic maintenance, and archiving of all files is governed
by the Firm’s file retention policy, which policy is amended from
time to time. Generally files are maintained for a period of ten
(10) years following file closing. If the client desires to
retain the file in the client’s records, arrangements should be
made as soon as possible after the file will have been closed but
no longer than the time for file purge in accordance with such
policy. Advice is provided that amendments to the file retention
policy may shorten the period of time during which files are
retained. Presently the policy envisions retention of all files
for approximately ten (10) years after the files become inactive.
However, estate planning files are normally retained 10 years
after the completion of any estate related administration.
